INTRODUCING SHAUN PROUTT
VOCALS, BASS & KEYBOARDS
Shaun was born in a small town in North-Western Ontario Canada. The eldest of a family that moved around frequently, the gypsies finally settled in Winnipeg in 1974.
A somewhat typical young life attending school, playing sports, Shaun did exhibit a creative side and did explore and study art with a dream of “maybe” working in the field one day.
That “plan” was interrupted in December of 1982. Shaun and a friend went to a “social” event at the “Monterey Ranch” hall. Normally a great venue for a party, this particular social was mediocre at best.
Shaun, being resourceful and always having a back-up plan for a Saturday night, knew of a high school house party that had a band playing. Being a big fan of live music and a party Shaun convinced his buddy that they should leave the social and go.
As it would turn out, December 18, 1982, would be a pivotable date that would send Shaun on a journey for the rest of his life.
The party was a typical teenage event, with the smoke hanging in the air, dim lighting in a basement and a band banging away on their instruments.
As the night wore on, beers flowing, Shaun and the guitarist Rick of the band (Pontius Pilate) stoked up a conversation and what was an immediate friendship discussing what was a love and passion for music/bands.
At some point on Sunday morning Rick mentioned to Shaun that he was not happy with his band and was looking to move on. Rick had been told Shaun was a drummer and asked him if he was interested in a new project. Shaun laughingly told Rick, he may have had some guitar lessons as a 9-year-old and had held a guitar, he was most certainly not a musician. Though he had sung in the school choir. It was at that moment Rick offered to teach Shaun how to play bass.
Shaun seized the opportunity without question or hesitation. Off the two went to purchase a bass, amplifier, and cabinet (for $250 all in). The journey had begun. That initial band “Guidelines” formed with another schoolmate on drums.
In short order the line-up changed, a new drummer was added, a female vocalist for what it seemed lasted as long as drinking a cup of coffee, and a keyboard player. The band had a few shows but spent most of its time rehearsing in the basement.
It was during the Guidelines band that Shaun was not only learning to play and work as a bandmate, but he had also begun to sing a few songs.
Eventually, Shaun, now out of school and working at a car dealership, left the band and began working in other projects throughout Western Canada with varied success.
Throughout his time in the coming bands Shaun would work hard on his musicianship, sound and develop his skills as a vocalist and front man for the cover bands.
Returning to Winnipeg in August of 1992, Shaun was able to fully reconnect with his best friend Tim (who he had met during a brief stint working at a music store in Winnipeg).
Tim was working in a cover project with Glenn that for both was not the band that they truly wanted.
Not unlike the moment when Tim and Shaun (Swan) met, there was an instant rapport and connection between Glenn, Tim, and Shaun. That connection is as strong today if not stronger than it was in the fall of 1992.
In short order, Red Red Sun was born and continues to thrive to this day, writing, recording, and performing their brand of music.
Shaun is fueled by the inspiration inherent to the Red Red Sun band and has been continually encouraged to explore his creativity, performance skills and musicianship. Shaun always seeks to give his band brothers, the audience and listener the very best.
Shaun has great love of theater and film, continues to work as an artist, perform in his cover project PRIMETIME and travel when possible.

INTRODUCING GLENN ANTONIO
GUITARS, VOCALS & ENGINEERING
Glenn was born in Winnipeg, but now lives just 15 minutes away from the perimeter hwy. His family was quite musical, dad, step brother and uncles all played music. Glenn got his first guitar when he was six years old, it might have been taller than him or it just seemed that way. Glenn always looked up to his older step brother for his musical inspiration and wanted to learn how to play guitar.
Glenn started taking guitar lessons from the Yamaha school of music when he was in grade 5. By the time Glenn entered junior high school he was playing guitar in the grade 7 jazz band. Whenever there was an inservice day Glenn would get together with the bass player and drummer from the Jazz band and rock out in the music room. It’s a good thing the teachers were on the other side of the school cause the boys played loud! Glenn continued on into high school where he played guitar in the Jazz band and saxophone in the concert band. In his senior year Glenn started to jam with some guys in the evening but nothing ever materialized from those sessions.
After attending college Glenn played in a few cover bands around the city most notably, WWTK (Who Wants to Know) and The 4 Cent Copies (where he met Tim and Shaun for the first time!). They soon formed Red Red Sun and that band held it together for several years. In the last few years of Red Red Sun, Glenn started a celtic band called Plain Salt where he played bass, 6 string banjo and 12 string guitar. Glenn recorded two albums with Plain Salt and after a decade decided he wanted to play rock again.
Glenn had a buddy whose band was looking for a fill-in bass player and before you know it Glenn had joined the Classic Embers as a full time bass player. Within a couple of years Glenn left Classic Embers and started jamming with his buddy Jim and Ali and soon formed a new band called Sitting Ducks. Ali’s brother Roger came to one of the shows and started playing drums and before you knew it we were a full on rock band again (and changed our name to bCuz).
Glenn was not only playing in the band but was also doing all of the live sound production. At this point both Shaun and Tim’s bands were looking for a reliable soundman and Glenn started doing sound for both of their bands (Prime Time and Clubbing Fraggles) on a regular basis.
Although Glenn isn’t playing with bCuz any longer he and Ali continue to write and record original music together. Glenn is still doing sound for Shaun and Tim’s other bands but has focused on playing, writing and recording Red Red Sun material for the last few years.

INTRODUCING TIM EPP
DRUMS & VOCALS
My family is from Boissevain, a small town in south western Manitoba. Most of my siblings were quite musical, almost all of my sisters played piano, and everyone sang in the church choir. My friend Chris (who also happened to be a family relative) first introduced me to drums at the age of 12, I quickly realized that I liked to hit things!
My first foray into music was in grade 7 when I joined the school band. I played in the percussion section through high school where I also joined the marching band and the jazz band. After the purchase of my first drum kit and many hours of practice in my parent’s attic, my first rock band Trauma was born.
After graduation from high school I moved to Winnipeg Manitoba and played in several cover bands ranging from straight out rock to synth-based pop bands. Just to list a few, they were Circles and Squares, I Am I Am, Love Life, The Pleasure Principle, The 4 Cent Copies as well as many others.
Over the years there have been many drummers that have inspired me. I would listen to drummers like Neal Peart, Simon Phillips, Jeff Porcaro, Buddy Rich, Greg Bissonette, Clem Burke, David Robinson, Chester Thompson and Bun E. Carlos to name just a few. Those drummers provided the spark and drive that helped me to develop my own drumming style.
In 1996 I moved to Brandon Manitoba and started out in a band called Armed and Hammered from there I moved on to my current cover band Clubbing Fraggles.
No matter where my musical journey took me I’ve still held on to my passion for writing lyrics, signing backups and laying down the beats for Red Red Sun.
